This potjie was amazing! I bought my potjie pot 2 weeks ago and decided to do this recipe for it’s initiation. This was the first ever potjie I made and it turned out BRILLIANT! I used cream of chicken soup and oxtail soup, and my dog stole the bacon when I wasn’t looking but it still turned out amazing! My girlfriend and her family loved it and went for seconds! – Clinton
Made this yesterday. Amazing recipe! Made it a little spicier by doubling the ginger and garlic, and added 2 fresh chili’s. Also made it using Kabeljou(layer 1), Prawns(Layer 2) and Crab(Layer 3) – Pritesh

This is now my favourite website for our potjies adventures! I added some ginger when the meat went in. Also tossed in 500ml fresh cream, portobello mushrooms and green beans (for colour) with the potatoes. Accompanied with wild rice, the meal was perfect! – Thubendran
I love this, I added 500ml white wine and 1l water, it was wow – Lufuno
Used a #4 pot. Used 3.5kg of pork-roast. Same fluids. Added about 1kg butternut chunks, 20min before the 2hours ran out. I got compliments all round for making this pot. Very tasty and flavorable pot – Christo
Cooked this at a potjie competition, first time everything – competition,fish potjie, biryani. I had a whale of a time and came third. I used swordfish – Roger

This is possibly the best venison shin recipe I have tried! I used Kudu shin and replaced the venison stock with veggie stock. I also doubled up on all the quantities. I left the bones in the pot – the meat fell off the bone and the marrow could easily be “removed” – Brett

This potjie is awesome. The flavours literally bursts in your mouth. I made this at a local amateur potjiekos competition and won! I am making this one for xmas as well. It was loved by everyone. I had to hide the last bit otherwise my husband would have had none – Jacky
