Ingredients
500 g prawns
30 ml cooking oil
1 large onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 green pepper, seeded and cut into strips
5 ml turmeric
5 ml salt
1 ml cayenne pepper (optional)
5 ml ground coriander
5 ml cumin
2 ml garam masala
250 ml milk
4 bananas
Method
Shell and devein prawns and rinse well in cold water.
Dry prawns on paper towelling.
Heat oil in potjie and lightly fry prawns.
Add onion, garlic and green pepper and sauté until transparent.
Add remaining ingredients, except milk and banana, and fry lightly for a few minutes. Pour warm milk over fish, cover with lid and simmer slowly for 15-20 minutes or until fish is cooked.
Slice bananas and arrange on top of fish.
Replace lid and simmer for another 5 minutes until banana is soft.
